Hello! My name is Jennifer Powell (aka creativegurl85 on instagram) and I am very excited to be included as a guest today on the blog. I am a busy stay at home momma to three kiddos and one very sweet little dog…oh and I can’t forget my very understanding husband. Northwest Iowa is the place we have called home for the last eight years.
I am a lover of all things coffee, Bible journaling, planning, homeschooling, and making my everyday life a little more beautiful and crafty. I am so excited to share my Bible with you and pray it inspires and encourages you.
To begin this page I first sketched out my lettering in the margin, then finally going over it all with my Micron pen in .5 making sure to leave a space to stamp the ‘Pray’ stamp from the “Prayers” stamp set. I used a black Stazon ink so when I went in later with the watercolor it wouldn’t smudge.
Next I drew a large semi circle in pencil to encompass the lettering as a guide to show where I wanted the floral wreath to be on my page. Before I stamped the florals on the Bible page I stamped the clusters I wanted to use on cardstock and cut them out to create a mask I could later lay on top of the already stamped images to create depth and avoid overlapping.
Then I just stamped these seriously gorgeous florals from the “Country Blooms” set in black Stazon ink and layered using the pieces I cut out earlier from the cardstock.
Now my most favorite part of the process, coloring all those beautiful blooms, I used my Pelikan watercolors in some fun bright colors. To pull the page together I pulled 3 matching washi tapes, and a few die cut and cut a part pieces.
I pray this page is both inspiring to your heart and creative soul!
