Hello friends! Happy new week! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today and I have this fun and colorful card to share with you all. It’s packed with many die cuts including a “sandman” in a Hawaiian shirt! This can be a fun Christmas card too!
I started this card by die cutting everything I need from plain white card stock. You can use colored card stock instead, but this time I decided to use white card stock and ink them. Here are the sets I used:
Mason Jar Base
Lovely Layers: Beach Houses
Holiday Front Porch Add-On (snow/sandman)
Lovely Layers: Small Seashells
Tropical Bouquets (flower & greeneries)
Mini Messages: Everyday (sentiment)
For all the die cuts, I inked them with various colors of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks except the jar lid and the tiny anchor which I die cut from foil card stock. I wanted to make the snowman into “sandman” so I inked him brown and gave him a fun shirt by cutting out the shape from patterned paper and added some details with markers. I also chopped off the top part of his top hat to make it into more of a casual hat. I tied some twine around the lid and added a die cut anchor with a jump ring.
For the background, I chose a pale blue wood pattern paper from Grain & Grunge paper pad and cut it into A2 size. I then die cut a piece of white card stock with the new Netting A2 Cover Plate and crumbled it up a bit to add texture. To adhere the netting, I added foam tapes to the back of the jar, placed it on the netting, and then applied another layer of foam tapes on the back and adhere it on the card panel (netting is sandwiched in between the two layers of foam tapes). This will create some depth and dimension and at the same time eliminate the need for liquid glue!
To add more texture and interest, I added Glossy Accents to his facial features, fishes, and coconuts. I also added a gem to the flower center.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!!

What a bright and imaginative card! I love it! It looks like it was a lot of fun to make too. Certainly not a quick one, but a fun one nonetheless. Thanks so much for sharing, Keiko!
Thank you so much Danita! Yes, it was so much fun to make this one. It is pretty satisfying to see what is in your head becomes a card design!
