Good morning!! I hope your week is off to a great start!! Brenda here with you today sharing a Valentine card created using Mae the Mouse. She is just the cutest little mouse and I can’t stop using her!! (Spoiler…you may be seeing her next week, as well. I have an idea that I just have to get out of my head…LOL!) But, I’m getting ahead of myself…here’s the card for this week.

Be-my-valentine1

I wanted Mae to look like she is floating away with these huge heart shaped balloons. I began by stamping Mae, the rose & envelope from Mae the Mouse with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink onto white cardstock. After coloring them with Copics, they were die-cut with the Coordinating Honey Cuts. The balloons were cut from pink & red cardstock using the Stacking Hearts & Scallop Hearts Honey Cuts. I added some shading to the pink hearts using Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick & Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks and a blending brush. I used the strip of hearts from the Silent Night set to white heat emboss some tiny hearts onto the balloons. The cloud stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder Set was used with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink and a blending brush for the clouds on the tall background panel. The sentiment is from the Brie Mine set. The “be my” was stamped directly onto the background panel with red ink, while “Valentine” was white heat embossed onto red cardstock and cut out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts. I added some red & white twine to the balloons and popped all of the elements up with foam adhesive. I added lots of Kiss Me & Hug Me clay hearts to reinforce the valentine theme!!
