Sometimes a quick printed background is all you need to jumpstart an idea. I used a preprinted limited edition Honey Bee Stamps paper to create this unique baking-themed holiday card. Lots of sweet kitchen accessories take this card to an adorably cute level! I’m using the following products from Honey Bee Stamps:
Peppermint Village stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Baking Add-On – Honey Cuts dies
Wonder of Christmas stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
What’s Cookin’ – Limited Edition A2 Paper Pack
Giddy for Gingham Pattern Paper Pad
For the basics… my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started with a white card base and layered a soft pink gingham pattern paper over the front. Giddy for Gingham Pattern Paper Pad is a great pad for a gingham selection! Next, I layered the beautiful, preprinted wreath from the What’s Cookin’ – Limited Edition A2 Paper Pack over the gingham. It’s so cute by itself, but adding elements takes it to a new cuteness level! I added fun little kitchen accessories such as the mistletoe and bows at the top, the mint green mixer, rolling pin, heart bowl, bundt cake, gingerbread cookies, and scale. These elements are from the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Honey Cuts dies and the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Baking Add-On – Honey Cuts dies. I used foam tabs to make a few of the items stand out a little bit more.
I also stamped and colored the cute house using the Peppermint Village stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. I stamped the design using a brown dye ink and colored it using Copic Sketch Markers in E57, E55, E53, R22 and R20. I attached the house at the base of the wreath using foam tabs. I also added a white snowy strip to “ground” the house. I cut the white cardstock strip the same width as the preprinted wreath sheet and hand cut a few curvy waves to represent snow. I used a W3 and W1 marker to shade the snow. More gingerbread were added around the house. Lastly, I added a sentiment using the Wonder of Christmas stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. A few Holiday Pearls on and off the wreath add a little sparkle and dimension, too.
