Hi all! It’s Bobbi here sharing one of my favorite Honey Cuts sets from the Cozy Christmas collection, the Hoosier Cabinet. It’s such a fun set, complete with add-on dies to personalize it. I shared an aqua Hoosier Cabinet filled with holiday favorites during the Christmas season, Today, I filled the cabinet with pinks, reds, hearts and lots of handmade LOVE!
I am using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Holiday Add-On – Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Baking Add-On – Honey Cuts dies
Rustic Brick Wall Embossing Folder
Gingham Happy Hearts Paper Pad
For the basics… my featured is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel (brick background). I used Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the cabinet fronts. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by diecutting all of my elements. This cabinet is one that you can get lost in. There are so many options to choose from to fill the cabinets. I used a mix of the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Honey Cuts dies, Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Holiday Add-On – Honey Cuts dies and the Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet – Baking Add-On – Honey Cuts dies. I had so many choices that I ended up displaying a few items at the top of the cabinet, too! Adding this additional height is only possible if you are making a larger style card such as a 7″ tall card. I added a pitcher of greenery, canisters, and a scale. The greenery is actually the mistletoe from the holiday set, but I made it into tall standing stems in the pitcher for this display.
I chose shades of pink, a touch of red and a contrast of green. Green and red are opposites on the color wheel and look great together. The base of the cabinet is a medium coral pink. For the the cabinet doors, I used a light pink cardstock and blended Worn Lipstick over the top to highlight the intricate design detail on the cabinet doors. A gingham pattern always feels charming and quaint, just like this cabinet so I added gingham backgrounds to the cabinets, like wallpaper. The paper I used was from an older paper pad, but the pad I linked here would work and give the same look.
On the counter, I added a standing mixer, frosting bag, mixing bowl, rolling pin and cookies in a jar. Inside the cabinets, I added a whip, oven mitt, bowls, measuring cups, jars, glass dome filled with pastries, plates, and more. To add in some more “love,” I added little green and red hearts to the bowls, jars and canisters using a Copic and/or a felt-tipped pen. The large jar on the counter got some cookies and the dome, some specialty bakery items. The amount of detail you can add with these sets is incredible. You can add shelves to the insides to fit any mix of items you like. There are soooo many “ingredients” in these sets!
I used the Rustic Brick Wall Embossing Folder and white cardstock for the wall background. I just love the scale of this brick for a card like this one. It works really well with the cabinet proportions. I attached everything using glue. Inside, I added a sentiment from the set, “What’s Cookin” that says, “Whisking you a sweet birthday.”
