Sorry, but I just have to make a scene today! With the new Falloween release by Honey Bee Stamps, I’m sharing a sweet card featuring the new Storybook Fall set. This set is filled with adorably, sweet characters and accessories to make a fall scene. To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the following new items by Honey Bee Stamps:

Storybook Fall stamps and coordinating Honey Cut dies

Farmhouse Fields Pumpkin Patch Add-On – Honey Cuts dies

For the basics… my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this scene, I stamped, die cut and colored the following elements using the Storybook Fall stamps and coordinating Honey Cut dies. I used Copic Sketch Markers to color the elements. Here’s a list of colors I used:

  • Scarecrow – B45, B41, R89, R46, R14, E55, E43, W3, YG63, YR24, R02 and my white gelly roll pen for highlights and textures.
  • Standing, spotted dog – E43, E42, E40, E59, C3, C1, B6, B24
  • Sitting dog – E55, E53, E50, E43, B45, B41, B21
  • Hay bails – R89, E43, E42, E50
  • Tree – E59, E57, E55, E43, 100, YG67, YG03,
  • Apples – R89, R46, R17, R14
  • Bird – B45, B41, YR68
  • Bushel – E59, E57, E55, E43, 100

I also die cut the corn and stalks for the background from the Farmhouse Fields Pumpkin Patch Add-On – Honey Cuts dies. I used green and gold cardstock. For the corn, I added some YR24 and YR19 coloring to shade the rounded ears.

For the background, I blended Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Ink at the bottom and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink at the top, leaving some white showing in the top area to create a cloud-filled sky. I enhanced the landscape using green and brown Copics. I added some dirt (i.e., browns) between the green ground and the sky.

I attached all the elements to the landscape and added shadowing to ground the elements. Birds were added to the trees. I stamped and cut the sentiment from the Storybook set and attached it to the upper right corner to complete the card.
