Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today on this wonderful Friday. (All Fridays are wonderful to me… I love when my hubby is home for the weekend!) I have a pretty, shimmery project for you today using a plethora of our new products. Let’s get started with the details!

To start, I die cut one of the beautiful new Seashell Card dies from pearlescent pink card stock and the detail layer from plain white card stock. I cut half of the sea shell card layer off to use just a portion of the card on my A2 card front.

Next, I die cut and stamped the beautiful mermaid from Under the Sea, as well as some of the fronds of seaweed, then heat embossed them with silver embossing powder. I stamped the greeting from Mermaid Song using the same embossing powder as well and fussy cut it. Instead of using my Zig markers or one of my other normal coloring mediums, I chose to use my Spectrum Noir glitter brush pens. I have a few of the pastel shades, and so used them to color the mermaid’s tail and her bikini top. I also used a darker green one to color the seaweed. Her body and face were colored with Copic markers.

For the background, I chose to add some subtle interest to the fairly busy die cut front with some ink blending using some of the fantastically clever new stencils released last week. I worked with just one of the stencils from the Ocean Scene Builder stencils, but I can’t WAIT to get inky with the other ones! So clever! I inked some seaweed fronds and some bubbles, then used my stencil brushes to lightly blend some medium blue ink at the top of my card front to complete the scene. The final step was to add some sequins from the new Ocean Shell sequins mix on the card front.

Here’s an angled look at the shimmery rainbow mermaid tail. Isn’t it pretty?

Well, that’s all for me today! I hope you enjoyed my project. Have a fantastic weekend!!
