Hi there! It’s Bobbi Lemanski from BobbiHartDesign.com with a card featuring the House Builder Card Base die set by Honey Bee Stamps. It’s new from the latest Autumn Blessings release. Perhaps for some, I’m too early in the year with a holiday card, but I just couldn’t help myself. Once the House Builder Card die set was revealed, I knew what I wanted to do with it… create the perfect home for the holidays! To create this card, I used the following products from Honey Bee. The top three listed are from the latest Autumn Blessings release:

To make this card, I started by die cutting the various pieces from cardstock. I cut the base and gable piece from 80lb white cardstock, the door from red, fence and window box from brown, window frames from black, interior windows from gray and shrubs and window box plants from a lighter green cardstock. The shingled roof, gable roof, and some evergreen boughs were cut from a darker green cardstock.

I started by using a ruler and black fine tip marker to draw horizontal lines for siding on the exterior of this house. I added a shadow under each line using a Copic Sketch C3 marker. I also added shadow lines under the rows of shingles on the roof. I adhered the roof, windows, gable, window box, fence, and shrubs to the base and added shading as needed to make them more dimensional. I drew in the door handle in black, (you could also die cut the piece).

I wanted to add evergreen wreaths to the windows so I cut a small circle and then fussy cut an imperfect circle around the die cut circle to make the donut-shaped wreaths. Using green markers, I added dots of green color on the shrubs, wreaths and flower box plantings to create more variation and dimension. Little red berries were added to the wreaths, planter box greenery, and boughs using Pearl Pen in red (Nuvo Drops would work for this, too).

I stamped, die cut and colored the the little pickup and its evergreen tree and adhered them together. Both the house and pickup truck were added to a 5″ X 7″ white cardstock piece cut from the 80lb cardstock. I hand drew in some bare trees using C5 and C3 Copics for a simple background to the house. I also drew in a stony driveway at the base of the house. The entire card front scene was attached to a landscape-oriented card base cut from 110lb Neenah cardstock. (I like to use a separate piece for the card front so that no Copic bleeding shows through on the inside of my card.) The phrase words were embossed in white on black cardstock and added to the upper left area as well as some boughs to embellish.

The finishing touch… SNOW, lots of snow. I added white dots using my Uni-ball Signo white gel pen to create the snowy wonder. I added more in the areas where snow would collect such as the window corners, top of the truck, fenders, etc. I’m born and raised in Wisconsin so I know snow very well! πŸ™‚ The snow completes this holiday home!
