Hello friends! Happy new week! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I have this adorable holiday themed shaped card for you. It’s a vintage inspired hoosier cabinet all decorated for the holiday! It is all die cut card (no stamping, inking, or coloring) and pretty easy to put together. I die cut everything from either pattern paper (cabinet) or colored card stock and decided not to add any inking or coloring. Instead, I added some details with white gel pen and this made a huge difference! The cabinet is close to an A2 size (fits in an A2 envelop) and four of the cabinet door can be opened.
For the card base, I die cut the cabinet shape twice from white card stock and scored one of them about 1/2 inch from the top and adhered it to the other one by only applying the glue to the top 1/2 inch (above where you have scored). This creates a cabinet shaped card base. I die cut another base from wood pattern paper in the Americana paper pad and adhered it to the card base. Now we are ready to die cut everything and put the cabinet together. You can create a beautiful cabinet just by using the original Hoosier Cabinet die set, but I love mixing the other sets so pulled out the bunch of new sets. Here are the die sets I used:
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Baking Add-On
Lovely Layers: Hoosier Cabinet Holiday Add-On
Lovely Layers: Window Holiday Add-On (garland)
Lovely Layers: Beach Bound Holiday Add-On (large bow)
I chose the color scheme to match my vintage Fire King collection (mint green and pink) and added some red and dark green for the contrast. For the two doors on the top, the die embosses these pretty pattern when you run them through your die cut machine. I lightly tapped a green ink pad on the die before die cutting, and it came out pretty good!
To finish off the card, I added some gems for the drawer handles, and Glossy Accents to several places. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!!
