Hello Bee Crafters! I have a fun little scarecrow to share with you today. Honey Bee Stamps has such sweet fall stamps and dies including this fall field of sunflowers and one sweet scarecrow. I am using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Lovely Layers: Scarecrow Honey Cuts dies
Great Greetings: Everyday – Honey Cuts dies
Blessings of Fall stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
For the basics… my featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and a light blue cardstock for the front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.
To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by creating the layered scarecrow. I die cut all of the elements using white and black cardstock along with a plaid paper from the Fall is in the Air Paper Pad. I colored the following layers using the Copic Marker colors listed below:
- Coveralls: B95, B93, B91, B12
- Face: E00, E04, E43, R00
- Straw and Straw hat: E43, E55, E57, B95, B93, B91
- Scarf: YR27, YR24, YR31, E57
- Wood Post: E43, E55, E57
- I also used a white Gelly Roll pen to various elements such as the crow’s eye, coveralls, etc.
Once everything was adhered together, I set aside the scarecrow to work on the scene setting.
I cut a 5″ X 7″ light blue cardstock. I added clouds to the sky using Brilliant White ink and Copics in C3 and C1. I also splattered black watercolor over the background to create specks (like falling leaves) in the air. I added a few crows in the sky using a Copic 100 marker. I hand drew simple “v” shaped birds for distant birds.
For the bottom of the card, I added pattern paper from the Fall is in the Air Paper Pad. I decided the sunflowers would be perfect. I am not sure crows are drawn to sunflowers, but I thought these bright yellow flowers would be cute! To create the field, I simply hand cut around the flowers on the top side and then attached the 5″ wide piece to the lower half of the card front. With the extra pattern paper, I hand cut a few more sunflowers and attached them at the top to make the field more dimensional. I attached the scarecrow in the field. Lastly, I die cut the “hello” sentiment from the Great Greetings: Everyday – Honey Cuts dies in black and white and attached it over the sunflowers. I also attached another sentiment below it from the Blessings of Fall stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. Both were attached using Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab. I attached the card front to a white card base to complete the card.
