Hi there! It’s Bobbi with a project featuring the 6″ X 6″ paper pads by Honey Bee Stamps. These exclusive patterned paper pads are on sale this week so keep reading below for details on the sale, including a promo code to use! Each 24-sheet pad includes twelve different whimsical, double-sided patterns, designed to work well alone or coordinate with other Honey Bee products.  Today, I used patterns from three of the pads to create this quickie card. Everything on my project was made using patterned papers except for my cute critters and phrase. All I needed to color for this scene were the animals. That’s quite a time saver! Don’t we all need a quickie card at times?! 🙂  Here’s a list of the Honey Bee products I used:

To make this card, I started by creating a hill for the critters to stand on using one of the double sided sheets of green from the Over the Rainbow pad. I alternated the design to create a little more texture. You have to look close since my critters and the flowers cover most of the hill. The polka-dotted sky was created using a paper from The Bee’s Knees pad. The pennant banners were simply cut out from a piece of the Spring Fling papers. Leanne West (IG:@oneallgirlstudio) had used the banners on one of her cards a few weeks ago and I just loved it! To make the banners stand out a bit more, I added shading and black stitching around the edges of the pennants. The bees and aqua flowers were cut out from another sheet of The Bee’s Knees and the yellow flowers from the Spring Fling pad. I adhered the banners and bees to the sky to create the top half.

Next, I stamped and colored the animals from the Gather Together stamp set. I wanted to keep this image smaller to fit on my hill so I trimmed off some of the animals. I colored the critters using shades found in the papers. Yes, I know raccoons aren’t blue nor bunnies coral pink, but I like the bit of whimsy it adds to this card. Once I added the animal grouping to the front, I grounded them a bit more by adding more flowers around their legs. I added the phrase from the set, Eggcelent Sentiments. I simply stamped it in black and cut apart the words to fit on three lines, next to the animals.

I wanted to add a little more dimension to the card so I used those cute clay flowers found in the Honey Bee online shop. I chose the pretty poppies and the plumeria ones to add to their hand bouquets and around the flowers at the base.

This 5″ x 7″ card is for my dear sister who is having surgery this week. I think she will enjoy the colors and the cute scene. It’s light-hearted, happy and sweet all in one – thanks to all those sweet patterned papers! You can check out all of the pads in the Honey Bee Shop by simply searching on “pattern paper pad.” There’s four pads to choose from.
