Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be guest designing for Honey Bee Stamps today. My card uses the super cute Swimming By stamp set along with the coordinating Swimming By Honey Cut Dies.
I started off by creating my background using alcohol inks. I added some blending solution on to a piece of Yupo paper, added the alcohol inks on top and spread them around with a spritzing tool to create some movement for the sea. The piece was cut down and I stamped the bubbles from the set on to it using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This piece was added to a white A2 card base with tape runner.
I took the mermaid and the turtle from the Swimming By set and stamped these on to some white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I coloured them with Copic Markers and cut them out using the dies. I took two strips of white cardstock and stamped the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment on to the top piece with more Tuxedo Black ink. The pieces were then added to the card with foam tape. I added the mermaid and turtle on top with foam tape and tape runner. I added glitter to the mermaid’s hair, top and tail and also a little to the turtle. To finish off, I added a few sequins and jewels.
A big thank you goes to Lisa and Melissa for having me guest with them today, and thank you for visiting the blog. I hope you have a great day!
