Hi! I’m honored & thrilled to be here celebrating Honey Bee’s 12 Designers of Christmas on Day 5! Today I’m lucky to be using what I consider stamping staples, the Lotus Blossom & the Brush Grunge Alpha!
The Lotus Blossom is one of my favorite stamps! I love the delicate lines of the blossom and its versatility. Go bold & bright, go delicate & pale, detailed watercolor or minimalist black & white…that little flower is a must-have!
For the card I want to share with you today, I was completely inspired by Honey Bee’s beautiful iridescent rainbow rhinestones to create some delicate & pale rainbow blossoms.
To create this card I started by stamping & embossing the Lotus Blossom in white on smooth watercolor paper.
I added color along the outside edges of the flowers with Clean Color Real Brush markers and blended with a waterbrush.
I stamped “thanks” using the Brush Grunge Alpha, my MISTI and some painter’s tape. Even with the MISTI grid, I’m rubbish at lining things up so I find that painter’s tape really helps me keep things straight when using letter stamps. And the Brush Grunge Alpha lines up beautifully!
After adding my sentiment in black, the inside of my flowers needed a little depth so I added a few little strokes of black with a Clean Color marker and used a baby wipe to blend/smear.
I added a little black paint splatter to the bottom corner because I might be addicted to splatters, LOL! And finally I added one of the iridescent rhinestones front & center!
Thanks so much for stopping by! And a HUGE thank you to Melissa & the Honey Bee Team for inviting me to join in the fun! Merry Christmas!!!
