Happy Saturday friends! It’s Carly and today I wanted to share one of my favorite techniques for stretching my stamps…stamping black & white backgrounds!

Today I’ve created 3 cards using images from the Penny the Platypus stamp set because this set is full of adorable things!!! After you finish the get well, congrats and love cards just from this set…take a peek at your other stamps to see what other little “accessory” type images might make wonderful background.

I have a few ideas…

Apples from Bushel And A Peck

Sunflowers from Happy Fall Y’all

Lemons from Tea Time (and really all the other images too)

Turtles from Swimming By

Ok, I’ll stop before the list gets super long, haha!

So the background is as simple stamping your chosen image repeatedly. I recommend rotating the stamp for variety but just have fun! You might find it easier to start in the corner or maybe the middle.

After you’ve created the background, top it with a colored image or sentiment. I created sentiments to match my background theme by blending Distress Inks on to Smooth Bristol cardstock.

Then I stamped and die cut with the Color Me Alpha.

Easy peasy right?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
