Texture, technique, trucks….
Good morning! Emily here with you today to share a holiday card with lots of color and a few different techniques. It is hard for me to believe that Thanksgiving is less than a week away. Eek!! My Christmas card stash is woefully small still. Let’s get started with the details!
To start, I blended some bright, royal blue on an A2 card base. I then used the Outdoor Scene Builders stencils with some Texture Paste to create some really true white birch trees. Using the Snow Writer pen, I dabbed some snowflakes against that bright sky. I love the contrast! I set that aside to dry so that I could focus on the truck.
For the truck, I die cut the main image and the Christmas tree from Little Pickup using the coordinating dies. I stamped the truck itself with some very pale gray ink so that I could use my Prismacolor pencils for some no-line coloring. I also used the new Hills Border dies to create a medium gray shimmer “ground” for my little truck. I popped it up on my card front with dimensional adhesive, then added my truck and Christmas tree over the top.
For the greeting, I wanted something that really popped agains the night sky, as well as something that would coordinate with the red of the truck, so I chose to die cut the beautiful new Merry and Bright dies from both red card stock and layer them on vellum.
Well, that’s all for me today! Not a card for mass production, but we still have time for that, right? (Ha!) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
