Hello crafters! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio here today. I’m sharing this fun Bill the Rock Star Card with you. This is perfect for Father’s Day or any other occasion for the men in your life.

For the background, I used the record player stamp from the brand new Good Mix stamp set. Using a stamp positioning tool, I repeatedly stamped this image on a piece of white card stock in gray dye ink. Then I colored the main part of the record by blending in some Distress Oxide Inks. Simply stamp the image on a piece of masking paper and cut out the record to make a mask (you also need to mask off the center of these records), then start blending the inks. TIP: Make sure you use a masking paper large enough to mask off the area outside of the records. I made sure some areas were darker than the other to make them look less flat. Here are the ink colors I used:
Blue: Tumbled Glass & Salty Ocean
Green: Cracked Pistachio & Lucky Clover
Yellow: Squeezed Lemonade & Fossilized Amber

For the main element of this card, I stamped the bill from Bill the Bear stamp set and a little bird from Snow Buddies set. I drew a pair of sunglasses, a leather jacket, and leather boots for bill, and sunglasses and spiky feather for the birdie before coloring them with Copics. I also stamped the little earbuds from Good Mix set and colored them too. I die cut both Bill and the birdie using the coordinating Honey Cuts die. I fussy cut the earbuds and glued some white thread on the back. After adhering the earbuds on Bill using foam tape, I cut a small slit on his jacket (where the pocket is) and tucked in the end of the thread to make it look like Bill has his music player in his pocket.

The sentiment is from new For the Record set. I white heat embossed it on black card stock and cut it out using a die from Banner Builder die set. I used one of the edge die to add these piercing holes. I die cut three more banners from gray, green, and silver glitter card stocks using the same die set.

Putting together this card is pretty straight forward. I die cut the ink blended main panel using the largest die in the A7 Double Stitched Frames set and glued it on the A7 card base I made from black card stock. Then I adhered the banner die cuts and layered the sentiment on top. I foam mounted Bill and birdie. TIP: I used small piece of foam tape for the bird, but for Bill, since he is a larger image, I used foam sheet (die cut with the coordinating die).

For finishing touches, I added some Crystal Clear Gem Stickers (also new from Honey Bee!) to the sentiment banner and to Bill’s jacket (I also added star sequins). Also added some glitter pen accents and Glossy Accents to few areas such as sunglasses, jackets and boots. I tied some black and white twine and this card is done!

Thank you so much for spending some time with me.
Wishing you a wonderful week!!

KEIKO

I can’t get over the fact that you drew the jacket, boots and shades for the bear. That’s soo realistic and looks like it was part of the actual stamp! Great job.
