Hey there, it’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a special delivery. My card may include vintage elements, but it is also very bright and fresh for today, too! I’m using some new products from the latest Honey Bee Stamp’s Vintage Love Release. I chose to make it a “congrats” card so that it could used be for a wedding, anniversary, retirement or any other exciting event. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Mini Postcard Honey Bee Stamps Honey Cuts die

Postmarked stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies

Vintage Flora background stamp

Lovely Layers: Cherry Blossoms Honey Cuts dies

Thinking of you Big Time stamps and and Honey Cuts dies

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and an aqua cardstock for the front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To create this card, I stamped the Vintage Flora background stamp in teal on aqua cardstock. Since the flora design is a bit short for my 7″ long card, I extended the design by stamping images from the Postmarked stamp set at the bottom. This worked great to make the background design fit my larger card size. I splattered brown and black watercolor paint over the stamped design and then some added some white ink, too. I set it aside to dry completely.

I die cut two mini postcards – one from a natural fleck cardstock and one from white cardstock and blended ink on the edges using Walnut Stain to age the cards. The ink helps to highlight the perimeter stitching and the “postcard” impression details on the card. I stamped a postage stamp and cancellation marks in a deep red ink color to the front postcard.

Using the Lovely Layers: Cherry Blossoms Honey Cuts dies, I cut two sets of cherry blossom branches. I used a muted green cardstock for the leaves and branches and white for the blossoms. I added color to both using Copic Markers in RV34, RV09, RV02, RV63, RV52 for the flowers and YG63, YG25, YG67 and YG03 for the leaves and branches. I assembled the branches following the Honey Bee layering guide (available online).

I assembled the card layers then added the “sending you” (cut into a simple banner design using my cutter) and the “congrats” word from the Thinking of you Big Time stamps and Honey Cuts dies. I also added the hummingbird and bird cage from the Postmarked stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies for added interest. I added a few gem sticker pearls in a deep rose and aqua blue to finish the look.
