Good morning! Emily here with you today with a pair of baby cards using the super adorable Welcome Baby set. I love watercoloring with my Zig markers, and pairing them with this precious baby set make some very quick work of a pair of baby cards!
I knew I wanted a boy and girl card, so I started by heat embossing the baby from Welcome Baby twice, adding the little ponytail to the baby girl, and the bear and blocks, as well as some of the balloons from Celebration Box on to some watercolor paper. I watercolored all of them with my Zig markers and a damp paintbrush, then fussy cut everything out.
Next, I die cut the “special delivery” from Welcome Words using blue shimmer and pink glitter card stock. I also die cut two stitched rectangles from the A2 Double Stitched Rectangle die set. I loosely arranged my little cluster of cuts to decide where I wanted everything placed, then blended a very subtle halo of pink and blue on the die cuts in the approximate area where I wanted the baby and balloon to be adhered. I also stamped the “handle with care” from Welcome Baby in a coordinating ink shade.
I added some twine to each of the balloons, then placed dimensional foam adhesive on all of the die cuts and adhered them to the stitched die cut. I placed the die cut greeting on the stitched die cut with some liquid adhesive and adhered the whole thing to the card base.
The final step was to add some stamped stars and hearts from Welcome Baby to the background of the stitched die cuts. I stamped some of them full strength, while others were stamped off once to get a more subtle, almost bokeh-ish effect.
Well, that’s all for me today! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Have a marvelous weekend!
