Easy Die Cut & Ink Blended Background!
I have attached a video below that includes all the details of making this card. If you’d rather watch on the Honey Bee Stamps YouTube Channel, click HERE!
Thanks for checking out the video. A complete supply list can be found at the end of this post!
I trimmed a sheet of Neenah Desert Storm Card Stock down to 4.25 X 5.5 inches. Using the starfish die, found in the Zen Ocean Die Set, I die cut a random design into the card stock. The blue and orange background was created using Broken China and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks. I simply smoothed on the ink in a random pattern. To get the great spotted or oxide reaction, I sprayed water onto the ink and waited a short time before dabbing up the water. After drying the ink blended background, I adhered the star overlay with foam tape.
The greeting is from the Mermaid Song Stamp Set. I stamped it in Versamark Ink onto Vellum. I added white embossing powder to the sticky ink and then smoothed and set the powder with a embossing heat tool. To adhere the vellum, I added a very small amount of Nuvo Liquid Adhesive just behind the embossed words. I crisscrossed a bit of twine and tied it over the greeting and background. To finish off the design, I glued a small starfish onto the twine bow. The whole piece was then adhered to a white card base. I love that this design can be used with any shaped die. What an easy way to get more use from your dies;)
Thanks for sticking around! Have a great day!!
