Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a basket of Christmas florals for the holidays. The new Honey Bee Stamps release called, “Make It Merry” includes the most beautiful layered poinsettia and winter greenery dies to make gorgeous holiday baskets. I grew up working in my mom’s floral shop and we made many of floral baskets for the holidays very similar to this one I’m sharing today. I’m using the following Honey Bee products for this handmade greeting:

Lovely Layers: Poinsettia dies

Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery – Honey Cuts

Vintage Picnic Basket – Honey Cuts

Foil Script: Holiday Hot Foil Plate and Honey Cuts

Winter Gems A2 Cover Plate – Honey Cuts

Grain and Grunge Paper Pad

Inside: Holiday Sentiments stamp set

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I cut two sets of the poinsettia layers and layered them together to create two three-dimensional flowers. I like to use the Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue to attach the layers. I also use one dimensional foam tab between one set of layers to make the petals stand out even more. I added gold metallic Nuvo Drops to the centers of the flowers. I enhanced some of the petals by blending a darker red ink on the edges on the bottom layers. The poinsettia leaves were cut from green cardstock.

Using the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery – Honey Cuts, I die cut some twigs in brown, evergreens in varied shades of green cardstock and berries from white cardstock. I shaded the white berries using Copic Markers in E43, E42 and YR30 and attached them to the brown twigs in the basket. I enhanced the green poinsettia leaves using darker green shades using G28, YG67 and YG63.

For the Vintage Picnic Basket – Honey Cuts, I cut the components from a soft, warm gray cardstock. I colored the handles of the basket using YG67, YG63 and YG03. I added a brass nail head to each handle at the edge using Nuvo Drops in Dirty Bronze.

To create the background, I die cut an A2 white panel for the background using the Winter Gems A2 Cover Plate – Honey Cuts. I attached it to the top, running it sideways to cover the full 5″ width of my A7 card. I wanted to keep the background subtle and let the flowers and greens really shine so I chose this design on white. It’s hard to see the design on my photos, but it’s there! I also used a distressed faux wood pattern paper for the lower half of the background. It’s from the amazing Grain and Grunge Paper Pad. I attached the vintage basket to the background and added the florals and greens to the container, to create the focal design. I splattered white paint over the florals to look like fresh fallen snowflakes on the arrangement.

Lastly, I foiled the “Happy Holidays” sentiment in Gold Glimmer Foil (using my Spellbinder Glimmer Hot Foil System) and die cut it using the coordinating dies included in the Foil Script: Holiday Hot Foil Plate and Honey Cuts set. I attached the sentiment right below the basket using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white to complete the Christmas greeting. This card will require extra postage to mail through the USPS due to the dimension, but I think it is worth it. 🙂 It’s also a wonderful card to hand-deliver, too. 🙂 Inside the card, I stamped a holiday phrase from the stamp set, Inside: Holiday Sentiments set.

Here’s another card I made for the release that uses many of the same products as the poinsettia bouquet. I added rust to the picnic basket and used the pine cones and more berries in this arrangement. You can see more photos here on my Instagram page.
